GROWING TIPS
Sow outdoors in the mid-spring to produce a summer harvest. Sow 2 seeds together and thin to 1 plant every 2 feet when plants are about 1" tall. A rich soil, high in nutrients, is important to growth so side-dress with fertilizer every 3-4 weeks. Snowball Cauliflower is self-blanching so no tying is necessary. Frequent watering every 5-7 days should yield good looking 6-12" heads. When harvesting cut with a knife preserving some leaves around the head for protection.
For an early harvest, start indoors in peat pots (to keep roots intact when transplanting) 8-12 weeks before the last frost date.
Long term storage: Cut into bite size pieces. Blanch in lightly salted water for 3 minutes. Cool in ice bath for 3 minutes. Drain, pack, seal and freeze.
