SimplyGro Lawn Food with Molasses is a convenient, liquid fertilizer without harsh chemicals, added phosphorus, animal byproducts, or smelly bio-solids. It is easy to mix and apply using hose end sprayers, watering cans, pump sprays, or backpack sprayers. It can be applied to established turf grass and newly seeded lawns, including all northern and southern grasses, as well as trees and shrubs. Our liquid lawn food is made without harsh chemicals so it won't burn or yellow your grass when used as directed. There are no restrictions on re-entry time (for pets or people) after application.
What to Put in It & What to Leave Out: One of the first decisions we made when developing SIMPLYGRO LAWN FOOD WITH MOLASSES was what NOT to put in it. With more than 30 years in the lawn care business we knew that many popular fertilizer products were made with harsh chemicals, manure and even bio-solids (organic materials resulting from the treatment of domestic sewage -- yes, you're reading that right). We left all that stuff out, added ingredients you'll recognize like molasses and soy, and developed this effective, powerful lawn fertilizer!
No Added Phosphates: With no added phosphates, SIMPLYGRO LAWN FOOD WITH MOLASSES meets and exceeds town and municipality regulations designed to protect the environment and local ground water from contamination.
Apply on a calm, dry day when no rain is expected. For best results apply when daytime temperatures are above 55°F and below 85°F. There are no re-entry restrictions after application.
Apply every 2-4 weeks while grass is actively growing, coating the entire treatment area thoroughly and evenly.
Using a Hose End Sprayer: The easiest way to apply SIMPLYGRO LAWN FOOD WITH MOLASSES is to combine it with your existing lawn care routine using a hose end sprayer. Just set the sprayer to mix fertilizer at a rate of 2-3 fluid ounces per 100 gallons of water and you’re ready to go. Raise or lower the mixing ratio depending on your current needs.
Using a Watering Can, Pump or Backpack Sprayer: For a more targeted application, combine fertilizer with water prior to use. Fill your container with the desired amount of water before adding fertilizer. (For this type of application a mixing ratio of 1-2 parts fertilizer to every 10 parts water is typical but can be adjusted as needed.) Shake, stir or agitate to mix thoroughly before use. After application water in the fertilizer for quicker nutrient uptake.
Note: Check with your local Cooperative Extension Agency to obtain specific information on local turf best management practices. Check with your county or city government to determine if there are local regulations for fertilizer use.
A Well Fed Lawn is a Happy Lawn: Just like you, your lawn needs nutrient rich food to grow and flourish. We recommend feeding with SIMPLYGRO LAWN FOOD WITH MOLASSES every 2-4 weeks during the growing season -- with the first feed in the early spring and the last in the late fall -- for a lush, healthy lawn. SIMPLYGRO LAWN FOOD WITH MOLASSES will not burn your lawn when used as directed. A thick, healthy lawn is less likely to be invaded by weeds.
Water Well & Often: Healthy, well fed, lawns are more efficient at absorbing water and nutrients. Water your lawn every few days to provide approximately 1 inch of moisture (including rainfall) per week. (A typical sprinkler takes 3-4 hours to provide 1 inch of water.)
Mow Like a Pro: Never remove more than 1/3 of the blade of grass when mowing. During times of stress (for instance in the hot summer) keep grass longer to protect the plant. Leaving clippings on the lawn allows plant nutrients to recycle back to the soil.
