GROWING TIPS

Oregano does not need cold stratification; and will grow well in poor and rocky soils. Organic enrichment will help plants establish; but fertilizing later will reduce flavor. Sow outdoors after the threat of frost has passed and soil has warmed to 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Press 4-5 seeds per group onto the soil gently, without fully covering, to allow light for germination. Mist to keep soil moist until seeds start to sprout. After that water sparingly, at the base of the plant, allowing soil to dry out between times. Prune regularly to encourage bushy growth.

Start & Grow Indoors: Oregano is easy to grow indoors and out as long as it has plenty of light. For an earlier crop, Oregano can be planted indoors 8-10 weeks prior to the last frost date; and then transplanted when the seedlings reach approximately 6 inches tall.
